1.4 Billion People – Looking to Urban Ag as a Salvation

India, the world’s second most populous nation behind China, is struggling to feed itself. With 1.4 billion people one focus to solve the problem is urban farming and controlled environment farming. Considering that India has more than four times the number of people in the United States, that would translate into a lot of farmers markets and market gardeners. The problem in India is two-fold. The more affluent are becoming obese, and lower income sectors are becoming more hungry and undernourished.
