140 Nations Pledge to Reduce Pedestrian Fatalities

The most vulnerable people in the world on roadways are the pedestrians that must walk across and along them. Approximately 1.35 million people die each year. The World Health Organization proclaims that it is the leading cause of death for people aged 5 to 29.

Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, leaders from 140 countries met as part of an international road safety summit meeting. Over 1,700 delegates from six continents signed on to the initiative to eliminate traffic deaths.
