In the history of food contamination, we’ve never heard of a national blanket call be the CDC telling all people not to buy or eat romaine lettuce. This seems curious. Is the CDC saying that the potential is there that all farms and all food chain handling are so integrated that we can trust no one?
HortDaily recently published a story on how romaine lettuce from indoor growers such as Gotham Greens, Revol Greens and Bright Farms may not fall within the CDC’s blanket condemnation because the controls and monitoring are there to demonstrate an e-coli free growing environment.
