Called Sustainable BioProducts, this Chicago-based company wants to use fermentation technology to create lab-grown proteins from microbes. The microbes being considered were discovered in hot pools in Yellowstone National Park.
Some of the big investors are America’s top billionaires Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg and Richard Branson. The have contributed part of the $33 million the company has raised so far.
