The natural world is being disassembled in unsustainable ways as large agri-corportions – often with funding from the World Bank – decimate rainforests in often questionable deals with local governments.
Recently the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the World Bank can no longer have immunity in the U.S. and can be subjected to lawsuits. By being able to hold the World Bank accountable for the environmental trespasses it finances, it closes yet another gap in a world struggling to keep from tearing itself apart environmentally.
