CleanTechnica just published news that annual wind power capacity additions are expected to average 67 gigawatts a year for the next 10 years. Considering that under ideal conditions 1 gigawatt may power 750,000 homes, the math becomes stunning. With 67 gigawatts of new wind power every year for 10 years (670 gigawatts), that would be enough to power over 500 million new homes. Now that is a lot of new power.
