Most large cities have fairly extensive bus (augmented with train) transportation systems. Recently the big news in public transportation has been the switch to electrified buses. But now, public transportation may be heading towards smaller “autonomous” shuttles to move people around.
The state of Rhode Island just passed enabling legislation to start testing autonomous vehicles for public transportation. How quickly will autonomous public transport catch on in America?
