BioCycle journalist Karen Dawson brings us the story of new legislation in Washington obliging municipalities to use compost whenever possible. An emerging issue in all metropolitan areas is how to deal with garbage and waste with landfills that are being used up and no place else to go. Requiring municipalities to use compost wherever practical creates a demand for this product and much needed incentives to recycle organic waste. You can read the full story here:
