Rotterdam, the second largest city in the Netherlands, has 150 million square feet of flat roofs. Back in history, much of the city was razed during WW II. The rebuild was done mostly with flat roof architecture. Now, this city of 700,000 people want to put roof gardens on 10 million square feet (230 square miles). What a way to re-invigorate a city.
