When we think of a big store with many outlets, we think of Walmart, with approximately 4,700 outlets in the U.S. However, the nation’s food banking network, has over 60,000 food pantries and meal programs, reaching between 45 and 50 million people a year, roughly 15% of the total U.S. Population.
Food banking offers an outlet for growers who have perishable product they can’t sell. A good way to raise your farm’s image, by making donation’s that might otherwise go to waste. The following video puts food banking in 2021 into perspective:
