The National FFA organization was organize in 1928 under a congressional charter. The roots of FFA come from the family farms that proliferated in the United States almost 100 years ago and crested in 1954 with some 7 million farms nationwide.

Today, some of the FFA chapters are embracing urban agriculture and urban agriculture service projects. You can keep updated with what these young people are doing by following them at the national FFA news page:
