News portal Dawn, brings interesting news from Pakistan. The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council – in response to public demand – has set up more than 300 food-gardening clubs. The plan is to integrate seasonal organic foods into the members of the clubs diets. Interesting is that the clubs include college students, military officials and the public.
Pakistan, a poor nation of 213 million people (the 5th most populous nation in the world), is probably the last nation one would suspect of being “chemical farming” conscious. Our feature photo – the national emblem of Pakistan – interestingly focuses on food crops.
