Housing First

Homelessness has become a global epidemic in first-world nations. Without a secure roof over your head, how do you solve all of your other problems, including reducing the problems of society as a whole?

The solution to the problem is not coming from the biggest industrial countries, but one of its smallest – Finland. In Finland, a small nation of less than 6 million people, the nation has embraced the vision of making housing first.

While the idea of housing first is a major step forward in the homelessness crisis, the more fundamental answer might be putting jobs and living wages first. Everyone needs to be needed and be able to contribute.
