The number of electric cars on the road continues to climb. Estimates are that electric car sales in 2018 may reach 1.2 million globally. That said, electric utilities are more than happy to promote electric cars with big batteries. Charging those batteries could mean electric utilities can take away billions of dollars from the oil companies.
A number of large utilities are offering up to $10,000 rebates to utility customers that buy electric cars. The goal is obvious, as utility companies now generate the earnings that previously when to fossil fuel companies. Utilities are also getting on the bandwagon to build charging stations.
