Germany is inventing a new grass-roots way for citizens to intervene in the political process. German law states that a petition with over 50,000 signatures must be put on the agenda of the federal government for discussion and action.
A grass-roots group in Germany is planning a major event on June 12, 2020. To be held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, event planners hope to have over 90,000 people attend.
