We have followed food waste for years. The interesting video below explains that around 40 percent of all food – from field to plate – goes to waste. For fresh fruits and vegetables, the percentage of loss is over 50 percent.
The video blames food waste on the gears of capitalism. The problem is that we are patriotically tied to capitalism – and that is not all bad. However, it often does not allow us to question what we do. In that respect, food waste should make us question what we do. Better to question what we do than to shift away from capitalism for something worse. What do you think?
