Positive Future #141 (Feature photo – Nikola One Semi Head – photo courtesy of Nikola Motors)
Last week, Nikola Motors launched a lawsuit against Telsa Motors, claiming Tesla copied the semi-truck design from Nikola Motors.
On the heels of this lawsuit, news has emerged that Nikola Motors just sold 800 of its hydrogen hybrid electric semi-trucks to Anheuser Busch. This is a hefty sale. However, the sale is partly due to Nikola Motors agreeing to build out 28 hydrogen refueling stations. An earlier study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory indicates a hydrogen fuel station can cost in the neighborhood of $3 million. Obviously, Nikola Motors is hoping that emerging technology will reduce that cost.
