Positive News, brings the story of people who are on the economic edge and struggling to eat. Poor populations in Rio de Janeiro – a city of 12 million people – have focused on a 27 acre strip of land in their neighborhood. Called the Hortas Cariocas project, the focus is to farm wherever possible including school yards. Estimates are that the project will help the food insecurity of 50,000 people.
