Pennsylvania – Picking Up Where the USDA Leaves Off

For most of our lives, the larger arena of food and farming has been overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The State of Pennsylvania is yet another example where food and farming issues are being taken up outside the federal level. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is launching an initiative backed by $500,000 in grants to further develop urban farms and urban food.
