Farmland Grab brings us the story of Ukraine farmland and its peoples who may be overrun by foreign farmland ownership. If you lose your farm – in a nation with few economic safety nets – you are in trouble. It is a troublesome story that is unfolding for rural and indigenous peoples around the world. On the other hand, Ukraine has a law that farmers can’t sell their land. Concerns are that foreigner and big agribusiness will buy out the land and turn the local farmers into peasant farm workers.
