Should Foreigners Own American Farmland?

Years ago, (mid-90s) there was a big push under the umbrella of the World Trade Organization to have nations harmonize laws for cross-border trade and foreign businesses setting up shop anywhere. No, almost 30 years later with global tensions, many states in America are looking to ban foreign ownership of farmland and water rights. The latest is the State of Washington, which is currently considering a ban on foreign ownership of farmland.
