CleanTechnica journalist Jennifer Sensiba, brings us the story of a patent filed for a fusion reactor. A small machine from 1 to 6.5 feet in size is purportedly capable of generating a gigawatt of energy while needing far less energy input. A gigawatt could theoretically power 700,000 homes. The kicker is that the patent was filed by an arm of the U.S. Navy.
