The New Chocolate – On the Edge of Farming

Most of the cacao grown in the world, is done in West Africa and Ghana. The problem is that this production is closely associated with more than 2 million children working under slave conditions. With demand for chocolate high around the world, a handful of companies are trying to commercialize lab grown chocolate. The process involves heavy feeding of cacao plant cells, which are then processed into chocolate.
