The Utah Legislature approved the rules and regulations needed to allow the industrial production of hemp, according to Utah Public Radio. According to the new rules, industrial hemp cannot be grown within 1,000 feet of schools and there needs to be a sign with a clear indication that the plants being grown are hemp, not marijuana. The new guidelines are to go into effect on October 15, 2018.
