Vertical Farm in the City – Business Story

Here is another business story about an indoor vertical farm in Arlington, Virginia. This community of roughly 250,000 sits alongside the nation’s Capitol, with a long and rich history. Seems that Arlington is experiencing high vacancy rates (22 percent) in its commercial office buildings. Fresh Impact Farms, in business since 2017, has an indoor growing operation in a warehouse attached to small strip mall. To attract new clients that may not fit the fold of Class A office space, the city has relaxed its zoning and occupation regulations. Could this be a situation in other cities?
