Touch the Soil News #1793 (Feature Photo – Australian Beef – CCA SA 4.0 International Generic)
Farmlandgrab news portal links us to a story about one of the largest ranches in the world. Called the Australian Agricultural Company (AACo.) – the oldest company in Australia, wealthy investors are clamoring to get a piece of the ownership. With 16 million acres of land, the AACo. Owns about 1 percent of all the land in Australia.
The story is about a major uptick in activity, where wealthy investors are buying AACo stock. This is stock in the company, not livestock – even though the company has approximately 565,000 beef cattle. This raises the question, are agricultural producing assets around the globe undervalued. Is there a message here that we all should own some agricultural assets?
