Toyota just announced that it was now testing a solar-powered Prius. The car has high efficiency solar panels on the hood, roof and trunk. Early estimates are that these cells may add 27 miles of range for a car parked in the sun all day.
Tis technology represents a new path that goes beyond Tesla and other global car manufacturers.
