Farm Journal’s AgWeb news portal reports on a new field of research that studies roots. In this case it is corn roots. The importance of corn research is that this year there will be 91 million acres of corn planted, making it the largest crop by acres in America, slightly ahead of the 87.5 million acres of soybeans.
