Bustanica – World’s Largest Vertical Farm

At almost 8 acres of indoor space, this vertical farm is capable of producing almost 6,000 lbs. of fresh leafy greens a day.  Now that is a lot of salad, when calculating about 5 servings of salad for every pound.   Bustanica means your garden or orchard in Arabic.

The facility cost $40 million to build and is totally hydroponic (soil-less).  At any given time there can be over 1 million plants growing.  You can read the full story here:
