Getting Serious About Food Security

The capital city of the UAE – Abu Dhabi – has gotten serious about food security. Having to import 90 percent of its food, the city has undertaken one of the most robust efforts to bring agricultural technology and food production into the city in the world. Over the past 12 months, the city has invested $285 million USD for new food security innovations – about $190 per person living in the city. The idea is to build fish, vegetable, fruit, cattle, and poultry farms. You can read the story here:
