InsideEVs journalist Mark Kane reports that global electric vehicle sales reached 662,000 for the first four months of 2018 – 2.1 percent of total vehicle sales. Estimates are that global EV sales may reach 3.5 million units in 2019. As more and more national governments, cities and states set target dates on phasing out fossil fuel car sales, EV sales – though modest today – have a long-term competitive advantage.
