Solar Desalination With a Non-Profit Business Model

GivePower just installed a solar-powered desalination plant in Kenya, Africa. The project desalinates almost 20,000 gallons of water from the Indian Ocean to produce clean drinkable water to some 25,000 people.

As the world’s basic resources become more scarce – pushing up prices – something has to give. In a growing number of cases, it is the for-profit business model that must give way for a non-profit business model because the margins only cover costs, not profit. You can read the full story here:
