Estimates are that 1 million California homes have solar panels, but only 19,000 have batteries to sustain them when the grid goes down. Now, Bloomberg New Energy Finance projects that in 2020 – largely in response to power company on-purpose outages last year – that 50,000 Californians will purchase back-up battery storage.
This is meaningful when such a large number of people, in a relatively short time, start scrambling to go around the power company’s that they’ve lived with for generations. You can read the full story here:
