The Huffington Post brings us interesting news of how one Canadian city – Victoria, B.C. – is gearing up to raise food for residents. Some parks department employees are being re-assigned to grow 50,000 to 75,000 seedlings to give to residents in May.
Victoria is at the center of an urban metro area of 370,000 people. This is a dramatic re-focus of what city parks and recreation should focus on moving forward.
