Global Beef Trade – Should We Worry?

FoodMarket News brings us an interesting story about global food security. At the heart of the story is a new question: Would your country sell its food overseas at the risk of overpricing it at home?

With China in big trouble of a shortage of meat, it is tapping Brazil for more beef. As a result, people in Brazil are now facing escalating beef prices as global competition for the product heats up. In addition, Brazil is incented to slash and burn rainforests to produce more beef.
