Indoor Wheat Farming – Is There a Future in It?

InFarm, a German company that builds indoor growing units, has successfully grown some wheat.  While the idea sounds a little out there, Infarm says its experiment achieved 26 times the average field yield with less water, not soil and no pesticides.  Global wheat farming, however, covers some 550 million acres.  That equates to a farm 100 miles wide and 8,500 miles long.  Even at 26 times greater yield, that would still take 33,000 square miles of actual indoor growing space.  You can watch the videos below?
