The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations keeps track of food prices, which globally increased over 30 percent over the past year. However, their latest Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 report has some interesting observations.
The number of people who did not have access to adequate food increased by 320 million people – roughly the population of the United States. There are now, in every region of the world, 3 billion people for whom healthy diets are economically out of reach, almost 1 in 3 people.
