Urban Food and Farming as a Social Enterprise

Curbed news journalist Valeria Ricciulli brings us the story of a new rooftop farm. The new farm is a quarter of an acre located six stories up on the roof of a new downtown development called Essex Crossing.

The farm is operated by a non-profit called Project EATS (http://projecteats.org) that will make the produce available locally. The farm will also host programming for public schools on nutrition and offer free
