WestWinn Urban Ag – Braving a Bold Urban Ag Enterprise

Newcastle News of Sharon, Pennsylvania bring the story of a brave new company – WestWinn Urban Ag.  The company invested $4 million into an aquaculture growing enterprise in a former Westinghouse torpedo factory facility.  Starting operations in 2022, it produced its first head of lettuce in July 2023.  The company has the capacity to produce 170,000 head of lettuce, 10,000 lbs. of fish and 10,000 lbs. of herbs every year.

WestWinn reports that as it ramps up, it already has 25 restaurants, grocery stores, and distributors on a waiting list for its produce.  You can read the full story here:
